JOURNAL TOPIC: [today's tunes: "C'mon Get Happy" by the Partridge
Family; "The Dope Show" by Marilyn Manson; "Don't Worry Be Happy" by
Bobby McFerrin]
If you compare it with the headlines, Brave New World can be a
depressing, even shocking reminder that society appears to be going
awry. So why do so many people regard it as such a brilliant novel?
Why have generations of high school students been required to read about
sex play and blank, staring, anesthetized adults engaged in the pursuit
of pseudo-happiness? Is there a silver lining to this dystopian
Modernist literature?
AGENDA:
1. Journal
2. Test
